Who We Are

Scarisbrick New Road Baptist Church is made up of people from all walks of life who choose to share our lives together as one big family, joined together through our faith in Jesus Christ.  As church we meet regularly for worship as well as to support one another and our wider community.

Our main celebration together is on a Sunday morning starting at 10:30am and we would love you to join us in person or online through our livestream.  If you join us in person we extend an invitation to share tea and coffee afterwards too, along with the change to meet friends old and new.

An important aspect of our worship is sharing Communion, (also called The Lord's Supper or Eucharist), on the third Sunday of the month.  We use bread and grape juice to reflect on Jesus' love and sacrificial death for us.  This is open to everyone who wishes to undertake this act of remembrance and commitment.

Our vision is to be a church where Jesus Christ is at the centre of all that we do as we strive to be a beacon of hope in our community.

This can be summarised in our shortened vision statement:

Christ Centred Community

To help us achieve this vision we desire to be a church that puts the following values into action:

Romans 12:1
We desire to be a church that freely and openly worships God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – and all he has done and does do for us.
Romans 12:2-3
We desire to be a church that seeks to develop our relationship with God, through prayer and inquiry, and how our faith relates to the issues which affect our lives.
Romans 12:4-5
We desire to be a church where everyone is welcome and able to work together, as well as partnering with other organisations and groups.
Romans 12:6-8
We desire to be a church that seeks to share the love of God in attractive, accessible and appropriate ways, showing that faith is relevant for today.
Romans 12:9-21
We desire to be a church that shows the love of God in practical ways, sharing and supporting our life together, in the wider community and the world.
